    Dr. Puleng has a passion for creativity, design thinking and innovation. She has twenty years of experienceworking in the private sector, government and in higher educational institutions. Her academic background entailsa BSc in Computer Science and Statistics, an MBA and a PhD in Business Management from the University of Cape Town.

    Her international peers have recognised Makhoalibe as a global leader in creativity and innovation. In 2013,she received an award recognising her contribution to the international community of innovators and creatives.In 2016, she received an Africa Social Innovation Leardership Award. In 2019 she received an award to be partof the women leaders of the world and became a lead for the cohort. She had now joined the women leaders ofthe world council. She headed up the center of Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE) at HenleyBusiness School from 2015 t0 2020. She co-founded two startups: the Alchemy Inspiration and Upside Globaland works with global organisations that accelerate innovation in various fields.

    As a seasoned sales and marketing leader in financial services, Tlalane co-founded insuretech Start-Up Yalu Financial Services in 2017, a brand that became synonymous with Credit Life Insurance in South Africa. In its 3 years of existence Yalu raised R75million in capital funding, sold close to 10 000 policies and surpassed R1million monthly premium threshold.

    Before that, she headed up the sales and marketing function of FNB South Africa’s insurance business, during which time their funeral plan became the fastest growth category product in the country. In her time as General Manager: Brand and Marketing at GlenrandMIB Tlalane relaunched the dwindling brand to become the 2010 Sunday Times 9th most recognised brand in the corporate sector.

    Tlalane was selected as one of Women Leaders Network’s (WLN) 19 Women Leaders for the world (WLW) for 2019, she has been featured on various media watchlists including Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2019 top 50 entrepreneurs watch list, Destiny Magazine’s top 40 under 40 (2012) and True love magazine’s class of 2020 and has been hailed as an inspirational leader.
